$500.00

Non-refundable Deposit; Balance due upon pick up.

PLEASE NOTE : This deposit secures a harvest slot in July ’23 at Midsouth Packers in Forsyth, Ga.

Our half cow price is: $4.99/lbs. hanging weight vacuum sealed in plastic. This is inclusive of all processing costs, aging, freezing fresh and packaging. Our average hanging weights typically come in around 750 lbs. (whole cow) which yields approximately 400 lbs. – 450 lbs. of take home yield depending on how you choose to have the steer butchered. Thus, a half cow would result in approximately 200 lbs. – 225 lbs. of take home yield.

All of our steers are butchered at a family owned USDA inspected processing facilities that we work with located in Forsyth, Ga. (a little over an hour drive southeast of Atlanta on I-75). Halves and wholes can be picked up directly from our processor or we can transport via freezer truck to our farm in Clarkesville for a $100 transport fee.

PLEASE NOTE : This deposit secures a harvest slot in July ’23 at Midsouth Packers in Forsyth, Ga.

Our beef price is: $4.99/lbs. hanging weight vacuum sealed in plastic. This is inclusive of all processing costs, aging, freezing fresh and packaging. Our average hanging weights typically come in around 750 lbs. (whole cow) which yields approximately 400 lbs. – 450 lbs. of take home yield depending on how you choose to have the steer butchered. A half cow would be half of the 750 lbs. hanging weight (which would come to approximately 375 lbs. hanging weight), estimated to yield approximately 200 lbs. – 225 lbs. of take home yield.

For example, if you choose bone in ribeyes, Porterhouses, bone in chuck roast and bone in shoulder roast your take home weight will climb higher although you’ll still be getting the same amount of beef (just more bone). Another benefit to ordering a whole/half is that you also get soup bones to make your own beef stock as well as some of the more creative cuts such as liver, heart, tongue and oxtail. These cuts are collectively referred to as the offal and with some creativity and proper preparation they can make a good meal!

The easiest way to look at the value proposition of buying a half/whole is that you’ll end up saving approximately 25% versus buying that same quantity of beef from us in our small bundles throughout the year.

When you place your deposit for a half, we will then reserve an animal for you + harvest date. We’ll also help you determine what cuts are best for your family and we’ll complete your processing ‘cut sheet’ together.

How much freezer space do I need for a half cow? We recommend a small chest-type freezer. 7-8 cubic foot model;  30 lbs. of beef = 1 cubic foot of freezer space
